DELICACIES OF PUNJAB

Punjab, a region in Northern India and the east side of Pakistan, has a long history and rich cultural heritage. The people of the Punjab are called Punjabis and they speak a language called Punjabi.The Punjabis are known for their rich foods. Predominantly wheat eating people, the Punjabis cook rice only on special occasions. Nans and parathas, rotis made of corn flour (makke di roti) are their typical breads. Milk and its products in the form of malai (cream), paneer (cottage cheese), butter and curds are always used with almost every Punjabi meal. The main masala in Punjabi dish consists of onion, garlic, ginger and a lot of tomatoes fried in pure ghee. Spices like coriander, cumin, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, red chili powder, turmeric and mustard are regularly used. MAH KI DAL , SARSON KA SAAG , stuffed parathas , SWEET LASSI and MAKKI DI ROTI can be found in no other state except Punjab.

DELICACIES OF GUJARAT

Gujarat is one the most prosperous state of india,forming as it does the most industrialised corridor between the town of Mehsana in north Gujarat and Bombay in Maharastra.Its original wealth stemmed from its roots in textile industry that is now nerly dead and defunct .However due to that history ,some of the world best textile and dress materials are still found only in Gujarat .
Gujarti cuisine is one of the best tasting vegetarian cuisine of the world . Famous varieties include DHOKLA , KHAKHARA, SHAKKARPARA and SHRIKHAND are the best.

DELICACIES OF KOLKATA

Kolkata, formerly Calcutta is the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located in eastern India on the east bank of the River Hooghly. The city has a population of almost 4.5 million, with an extended metropolitan population of over 14 million, making it the third-largest urban agglomeration and the fourth-largest city in India.
What or where to eat in Kolkata is a question that arises in the minds of every tourist coming to visit Kolkata in India. Marked as the 'City of Joy', Kolkata (or Calcutta) is a melting point of many Indian cultures. To the foodie, Kolkata is a veritable haven of both local and international cuisines. While Chinese, Italian, Thai and Continental cuisines can be found galore in restaurants of all shapes and sizes, grilled Australian cuisines have also become hot favorites and are found in few good hotels. Rossogolla, Sandesh or Chanar Payesh (all made out of cottage cheese), Misti Doi (sweetened curd), patlali gur confectioneries (date palm jaggery) are known all over India. Langcha and Mihidana-sitabhog of Krishnanagar, Chanabora of Murshidabad contribute to the fame of sweetmeat delicacies of Kolkata. Jhalmuri and Puchkas, mouthwatering light snacks are found in and around Maidan and the adjacent streets of New Market apart from every lane and by-lane in Kolkata.

DELICACIES OF RAJASTHAN

Rajasthan is a land of glorius historical ,tradition and culture, which replete with the annals of patriotism valor and self sacrifice .Sand dunes, wooded hills, amazing lakes, palaces and rugged forts, men and women in colourful turbans and skirts, bustling town and quiet villages, camels, elephants and tigers are in abundance in Rajasthan. Rajasthan is a land of surprises and a land of amazing natural beauty that can fascinat.
Beside these rajasthan has made its mark in its traditional food and cuisines with its unique flavour.Perhaps the best-known Rajasthani food is the combination of DAL BATI and CHURMA(dal is lentils;bati is baked wheat ball; and churma is powdered sweetened cereal), but for the adventurous traveller, willing to experiment, there is a lot of variety available. Besides, each region is distinguished by its popular sweet -SWEET KACHORI from jodhpur, RASOGULLAS from Bikaner, GHEVAR from Jaipur, GATTE KI SABZI ,LAHSUN KI CHUTNEY andMISSI ROTI . There is something for everyone in this vast state.
